Volunteering

I am studying to be a medical laboratory technician. Through this program, I have passed a training course to go on blood drives in my area. I will only be able to take a donor's blood pressure, pulse rate, and temperature for now. Once I graduate or get more certifications I will be able to draw the blood from donors. I enjoy getting out of the classroom and having real world experiences. It helps me remember why I'm having to take all of these hard courses and why instructors can be so hard on us. They want us to be as knowledgeable as possible so we can be a success wherever we go to work. There are times when I dread class but it's only for a little while. I have to keep looking to what is waiting for me in the future. I can almost see it...it's pretty bright! :)

Shopping

I do not mind shopping most of the time. The one thing I definately do not like is going grocery shopping. I hate that food is so expensive, so I'm usually not in the best mood when I go. What really irritates me is when a couple of people stop in the middle of the aisle and talk. They are always in my way, right in front of an item I need. They act as if no one else is around, then when I say excuse me, they look at me weird. I go to the store, get what I need and get out of there. Others treat it as if it's a family reunion meeting spot. For goodness sakes, get each other's number and move on. Make a date to visit at their house or something. If you MUST talk, AT LEAST move yourself out from the middle of the aisle so the rest of us can move on.

Spring

In my previous post, I talked about how I'm so glad that the spring season is on its way. There are a couple of things that I'm not too thrilled about this time of year. One is the pollen. I do not have allergy issues but it does annoy me when everything turns that yellow tint, especially on my vehicle. If I rub against it then pollen will get on my clothes, ugh. The other thing is stormy weather. I am OK with the occasional thunderstorm but hate it when they are severe. I am sure I am not alone. The threat of tornadoes really worries me. I hate it for those who are in the Midwest who get them often. We have come too close for comfort where I live recently. Hopefully, the threat will not get any worse but it is not looking that way.
